Chopped my Hair!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed I chopped my hair off! I’ve been contemplating it for over a year, but it’s a big change!
On May 1, I cut off around 10 inches. I did a lot of research on donation and what nonprofits would allow me to donate 10 inches of colored hair. Turns out there aren’t many. I landed on Children With Hair Loss (CWHL) that gives FREE wigs to kids with diseases related to hair loss. It was an easy process - I just had to fill out a form and send my ponytail in a baggie.
So besides donating my hair, why did I want the change? I chopped my hair back in high school and hated it. I got a body wave (who else had one of these?!), dyed my hair dark brown and chopped it to my shoulders. Still unsure why I did all three at once, but it was a bad look. I’ve been scared ever since. But I also really loved Lobs (long Bobs) and decided that I needed to finally pull the trigger! Whitney at Bliss Hair Salon in Alamo, Calif. did a fantastic job - she made sure my thick hair wasn’t puffy by layering it internally (I wanted it to look one length) and mixing balayage and foil highlights to lighten the color. I am in love!!! My hair grows very fast so I’m going back in soon for a trim and color touch-up.
What do you think of my new hairstyle? Have you ever drastically changed your hair? Let me know in the comments below.
Xoxo,
